Chosen Few was started in 1992 as a trio, featuring Brian Arnold, from West Plains, Missouri, Ashley Ellison, from Willard, Missouri, and long time Branson entertainer, Terry Kaufman, originally from Columbus, Ohio.

  Brian and Ashley had gone to high school together in West Plains and Terry and Brian had worked together in Branson, first with the Branson Brothers, then with the Blackwood Quartet.

   The three had became a trio in 1992 and flirted with becoming a quartet using famed Hee Haw bass singer, Ray Burdett, as seen in the promotional picture.
  

   The trio then began singing at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri.
